The Superette was donated to the Scout Camp by Boy Scouts of the American Scout Troop 891. They came and stayed at the campsite during June 2008 and helped clear the site for the building.
The building was constructed in June 2008 by local builders in the Songani village and the money was raised by the American Scouts in their home country. It is yet to be completed and funds will need to be raised to initially stock the Superette. It is a valuable asset to the campsite and will help make the campsite work towards its way to sustainable running and will also aid the local villages.
Progress of the Assistant Manager’s house at Makwawa Campsite is coming along quickly.
The house, which has been funded by Ashby and Coalville Scout District in the U.K. and Mr. & Mrs. Morris, has been built near the Camp Commissioner’s house on the foundations of a previously demolished house.
It is a 2 roomed house with electricity
The roofing construction has also been completed.
